Kris & Katie are a partnership of Chef and Real Food Advocate who created Fat Bean Farm & Food Co. in late 2014. Their shared ideologies around Real Food as Good Medicine, and the age old concept of Eat, Drink, and be Merry led to this multi-faceted endeavor. With a combined two decades of food, beverage, hospitality and entrepreneurial experience between them, a paradigm shifting model was created.
Fat Bean Farm is the small pocket farm in Floyd, VA that they lovingly maintain, as well as the probiotic rich, raw and wild fermented food wholesale operation they run, and their shared passion: event food vending. With a nine year history of bringing real, local, organic and delicious food to festivals in the surrounding region, they decided to take their new show on the road in a more expansive way. Fat Bean Taco was born, and it’s not your typical food vendor operation: it’s real food,
made-to-order, fast, fast!
The menu is produced exclusively from scratch. The tortilla, the backbone and blank canvas of any good taco, is created with fresh dough, mixed by hand, each individually hand rolled before being cooked to order on a cast iron flat top. The salsas are artfully designed riffs on classics that are made using only fresh produce. There are no additives, preservatives, or unpronounceable ingredients anywhere.
These guys like their food the way they like their experiences; undiluted.
